Welcome to the 13th Open European Championships in TeamGym 2020 in Copenhagen
Get ready for an explosive and riveting gymnastic experience with the world’s best TeamGym gymnasts.
The European Championships in TeamGym is one of the youngest UEG events and it takes place every two years. The first UEG TeamGym – then called Euroteam – competition was held in Finland in 1996 and the first official TeamGym European Championships in Sweden in 2010, which also included junior teams. Denmark hosted Euroteam back in 1998 in Odense and the European Championship in Aarhus 2012.
TeamGym is a team competition being performed in three disciplines: Floor, Tumbling and Trampette. All three disciplines require effective teamwork and excellent technique with difficult skills in acrobatic and gymnastic elements. TeamGym competitions are divided into three sections: Women, Men and Mixed teams. The event is attractive for spectators and media as well as sponsors because it’s both entertaining and exciting to watch. TeamGym competitions are recognized by their very good spirit and an exciting atmosphere.
A team may consist of 8 – 10 gymnasts, all of whom must compete in the Floor routine. In the Tumbling and Trampette disciplines, 6 gymnasts perform in each round. In all disciplines, all the performing gymnasts are judged. A mixed team must consist of equal male and female gymnasts.
