Danish teams announced for 2021 European Championships
Today, October 14th, marks the original start date for the 2020 European Championships, but as you all know covid-19 changed that and the championships will kick-off April 14th 2021 instead.
But here in Denmark we still had world-class TeamGym lately as the final selection of the national teams took place this weekend. At Flemming Efterskole the juniors met for a fantastic day of gymnastics and the national coaches were very impressed by the high level of talent.
The senior gymnasts met in Svendborg and the atmosphere was electric as the absence of gymnastics in 2020 made the reunion with friends from far-flung corners of the country, that more special.
National coach for the senior men’s team, Lars Nørregaard, explains:
It was by no means easy choosing the men’s team. A lot of aspects goes into play and all parts of the training og test this weekend has been filmed and studied. We, the coaches, have looked for a balanced combination of approved/beautifully executed moments, a very high level of tumbling and skills on the trampette, experienced gymnasts and exciting new faces. I think we found exactly that.
See photos from the weekend below and remember we would love to follow how the selection of the national teams are going outside of Denmark, so feel free to send content to Communications Manager, Josias Juliussen at firstname.lastname@example.org
